Daily Life in Santa Teresa

Tuesday, 5:30 am surf. Don’t know if I remember anything specific from Tuesday besides not catching that many waves on my new board.

I wasn’t doing much Monday or Tuesday:

5:30 - surf

7:30 - (outdoor) shower, coffee, hummus and rice cakes or granola

8 - work

1 pm - lunch (rice and canned vegetables)

2 pm - coffee

4 pm - surf

7 pm - dinner (rice fresh veggies beans and eggs)

8 pm - two Topo Chico hard seltzers

It was kind of nice to be in such a simple routine, but also I was definitely missing out on the consumerist fun things like eating out and seeing people out. Saving money, but missing out on a lot of the reason I’m actually in Costa Rica...

Wednesday night I began my consumerism - I bought a small Fruitas (juice) at the store, and then I went to La Esquinita for lunch. I absolutely loved La Esquinita and was had some second thoughts on my period of simplicity and restraint.

It is owned by an Argentinian? couple that Juan and Caroline met. I think they used to run Pachamama or something. I just met Vicky, who was awesome. Fit and strong and high energy. It was impressive watching her work around the restaurant, owning the space.

I ordered El Tipico - rice and beans, fried eggs, green salsa, tortilla. It was fantastic. Then Emmet showed up and this was the first time that we had really talked.

Turns out, I really liked the guy.

UVA grad, working in website development/consulting. Seems smart and motivated. 40 person company giving out large macbooks… 22 and trying to figure out life.

I think that covers most of the stuff not covered in the daily entries.
